The Dunedin Ukulele Club has been born! Sunday 23 November will go down as an historic moment in Dunedin’s musical history.
We had a fantastic turn out of 18 people (plus Mira and Sofia who got a bit mixed up with the time) and everybody had a blast. We did well – 3 chords and a whole lot of songs, including “The Lion Sleeps Tonight” in three parts!
For posterity, the foundation members of the Dunedin Ukulele Club are: Justine ~ Roberta ~ Noel ~ Suze ~ Phoebe ~ Caellin ~ Amber ~ Ali ~ Helen ~ Isabella ~ Sophie ~ Laura ~ Katie ~ Nicola ~ Liberty ~ Lou ~ Rosalind ~ Sam ~ Mira ~ Sofia
Our next session will be Sunday 14 December, 1 – 3pm in Room 208, King Edward Court. Email or text me to book in (firstname.lastname@example.org or text 021 1337806). Cost is $2 per person per session to cover photocopying. Bring your uke (we do have a couple of loaners if you’re stuck), a music stand (if you have one), a folder and a smile :)
Here are the photos I took of our first session. Long may the Dunedin Ukulele Club continue!
